Paul, You should attach the network cable from the cable modem to your computer. You should configure your system network interface Card to DHCP unless your ISP gave you a static IP. Once you do that, reboot and you should be in business. Abraham paul harrowsmith wrote:
Hi
Can anybody give me some pointers as to how to get a cable modem up and running under SuSE 8.1
I've looked at the support database at suse but I could only find half a page and it didn't work.
The modem is an Ambit USB cable modem supplied through NTL. It's an always on connection so when I tried to configure it through yast I haven't got a phone number to supply YAST.
Any help would be much appriciated.
