i have suse 8.0 running at 2 servers at my lan. but i'm having a problem. Every time when i try to mount a network share ( mount -t smbfs -o -username=me,password=*** //machine/share /home/path), my console crashes and i have this message at /var/log/messages :
Dec 23 13:53:40 servidor mount.smbfs[1015]: mount.smbfs: entering daemon mode for service \\svr_nt\dados, pid=1015 Dec 23 13:53:43 servidor kernel: Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address c7800000 ...
This problem happens only on suse 8.0 . I had 7.3 and worked fine.
If the command is OK (I haven't checked it) then it may be a kernel problem. I suggest you update your kernel, see e.g. ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/update/8.0/kernel/LSB -- Alexandr.Malusek@imv.liu.se
