Not true. Manually run the mk_initrd after in the kernel installs. My original Nvidia works just fine with the .19 series after the default install, the 145 version and now the 185 version of the k_athlon kernel. (...)
I also ran mk_initrd from the command line myself (after installing the new kernel), because I did not trust the whole thing:-) -maybe I should have mentioned that right from the beginning- BUT that did not help :-(( Anyway, back to the old kernel, and the machine works ...
