Even after uncluttering the desktop (hoped that would do something) I still have qwidget warnings. Is there a way to see the log out of kde? Ending at console I only can see some of the information on the top of my screen because I still have not get rid of the MCOP dispatcher which tells me that there are still eleven ARTS ... open and then giving a warning that after leaving that dispatcher (whatever that may be) there are still 117 types (of wath?) alive. If that riddle of info should not be there I could read more of the qwidget business.
Look in the file ~/.xsession-errors if you use kdm or xdm and in the file ~/.X.err if you use startx
As far as I can see there is an "unnamed/DigitalClock" with a negative size of 2,-4 and an "unnamed/Qlabel" with the size of 71,-4., both of which are not possible. How to get rid of them?
I just looked in my own ~/.xsession-errors on two of my SuSE-8.1 computers and found out that I also have these errors appearing (but not on the third one for some unknown reason). I never noticed them before, probably because I use kdm. A quick look into the source code: ... /kdebase-3.0.3/kicker/applets/clock/clock.cpp leads me to guess that the clock applet on the kicker panel has a minor bug having to do with size requests. They are just debugging messages which you probably shouldn't worry about unless the clock crashes (or you want to help the KDE team debug the problem :-)
