Is this a known issue and is there a work-around?
That might not be related to the hang but booting with 'safe mode' will set nonideautotune.
I had a similar problem which could also be solved by choosing 'safe mode'. I found out that 'acpi=off apm=off' were the options that made the kernel boot correctly. Ré
