Hello, John. Firstly, can you print at all? What's your path for the print spool? Make sure you have the correct permissions on it. After that, the first thing I would do is to up the debug level in /etc/samba/smb.conf and monitor /var/log/samba/log.smbd. log level (G) The value of the parameter (an integer) allows the debug level (logging level) to be specified in the smb.conf file. This is to give greater flexibility in the configuration of the system. The default will be the log level specified on the command line or level zero if none was specified. Using SuSE 8.0 on a small network I have successfully installed a Lexmark Optra R+ laser to LPT1 and can print from various linux applications OK.
I have Samba 2.2.3a installed and can mount NTshares on the linux machines.
I have use the add printer wizard and installed the Cups printer on the NTbox with appropriate drivers. Selecting properties to print a test page I get a rejection "access is denied" or a message unable to start print job.
Any advice to resolve this would be appreciated.
