Ideas I am tossing around... - using qmail for email (is this a good or bad idea?)
Stick with what SuSE installs as default Postfix. Reasoning, if they need to update it themselves, maybe there is a security fix for postfix, they should be able to do it. If you install qmail exim whatever that does not come with SuSE you are calling for problem I would say.
- Samba so the one Linux machine can act as a central file/print server for the WinXP machines.
