The problem is the Samsung SV1022D, the size of this HD reported by Yast ( text mode and graphic mode ) is 0 bytes !

Perhaps you could make the partitions manually via the rescue system, and then install to existing partitions.
Rescue system does not recognize the size of HD too . All available kernels in Suse 8.1 reports 0 bytes to this Samsung HD . I'm trying to find out if is only Suse Kernel or all 2.4.19, or maybe making some tweekings in startup scrips can fix it . Fábio Rabelo
