Does the second option really work? I've never been able to set up YaST to use anything other than CD or DVD for installation. Directly clicking on an rpm gives you the option to install that rpm but then if you have a set of rpm's (say, xine, for example) that's not viable, especially if you don't know the dependencies. rpm from the commandline works for installing en mass, but I'd really like to see YaST functionality improve (that is, at least be able to do what is seems it says it can do). Hey, but maybe it's me. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong.
It works for me in 8.1 at least, I can't remember if it worked in 8.0 But I never bother with the CDs now if I want to install an extra package. It's just like the good ol' days of 6.3 which is when I last remember it really working ;) -- James Ogley, Unix Systems Administrator, Pinnacle Insurance Plc james.ogley@pinnacle.co.uk www.pinnacle.co.uk +44 (0) 20 8731 3619 Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 8.1) Updated GNOME RPMs for SuSE Linux: www.usr-local-bin.org *********************************************************************** CONFIDENTIALITY.
