yes - I logged on as root in a bash shell before running the script. When that didn't work I shutdown my x session and and logged in as root and re-ran the script. Still got the same error messages. . . Snip
Sound of head banging on the wall . . . Fixed the problem, once I installed the cabextract file from SourceForge. Amazing how well it worked this time ;-) Thanks for the information Ben and Jim. I read Ben's post and didn't think too much about it. Read Jim's post, posted my response and then realized later that I hadn't installed the extract prog.
