Hi list, SuSE Linux 8.1, updated KDE 3.0.3 to 3.0.4 using YOU.
Now, I'm not able to access the Windows shared folder on other machine using the location smb://computer/share in Konqueror.
It seems like it doesn't understand smb:// as a special thing (KIOSlave).
Checked KDE Control Center/Information/Protocols... no sign of smb (... sftp, smtp, smtps, tar... yes, everything, but not smb)
Let's check the included in kdebase3: rpm -ql kdebase3 | grep kio_ (yes, the kio is followed by underscore, and after the -q we have a small L not a big i --- by the way, why the default font of SuSE 8.1 KMail is this one in which l is identical with I?)
zgrep kio_smb CD1/ARCHIVES.gz reveals that kio_smb is now in kdebase3-samba. It probably wasn't installed by default, so just grab it from the update directory update/8.1/rpm/i586/kdebase3-samba-3.0.4-4.i586.rpm Anders
