A quick check you can do to make sure your network card is working (after you have removed the wrong driver and installed the right one) is to open a Shell - Konsole. Type: su root and enter your root password Type: ifconfig You should see the network configuration information. You KNE-PC2 shoudl show up as eth0. If things are working correctly, you should see something like this:
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:50:BF:60:86:57 inet addr:192.168.0.4 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
I just have to add that you don't have to be root just to run ifconfig, only if you need to change something. Just open a shell and run /sbin/ifconfig and the info will be displayed. As a general rule one should try to avoid running as root as much as possible. //Anders
