Is there any simple way to find out these details of exact model and possibly the chipset ?
I have been told that they used a Prism2 chipset & MA401

OK, do you know the exact model and possibly the chipset ? Also, grab the tools from http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/ftp/contrib/wireless_tools.24.tar.gz and install them in /usr/local/bin/ after compiling. (That is if you haven't already :-) /Dee
