Hi Pascal! First ADSL is a wonderful form for Internet access. There are several ways to connect with ADSL. I have got an box with an ethernet connection. I just connect it to a NIC in my Linux box, configured a firewall and then all my computers on my small network could access Internet. The other alternatives are different boxes that connects to your USB or serial(?). I don't know about those boxes but there have been som postings on list today and yesterday. Read them and you will get some tips. If you want to learn about firewalls you can read "Iptables Tutorial" by Oscar Andreasson. There ought to be some documentation on the SuSE firewalls also but I havn't found it yet. If you want to have a secure tunnel between home and office you can use FreeS/Wan that are included in 8.0, you kan find lots of information in /usr/share/doc/packages/freeswan. I don't know anything about tools for checking Internet attacks. Regards Nils-Olov Fransson On Monday 15 July 2002 09.14, Pascal Miquet wrote:
Hi falks,
Just in few words, and a quick question:
I'd like to know how can be made an ADSL Internet connection and a safe one ? I means firewall for example. And what system should be activated to make this works fine. What tools should be used to checks the Internet attack, connection, and so on ? And last but not least, how can we get an Internet link from home to the office so that windows client system at home should get connection to the office server, and get a good protection from piracy.
Any link, or documentation are welcome. Thanks for your help. Regards
