Hi Fergus,
Don't know ScribuS, but is it perhaps the case that the tarball (I assume?) you have predates kde3? Or does it mention that it's for kde3 but for some reason wants qt2?
IT's a DTP package for Linux ... it was on the front of a magazine cover though I have d/loaded a later version, the stable one. The page gives instruction specific to SuSE 8.0 but assumes a level of command line experience I don't have and my books/man pages don't seem to help much. They say you have to edit the /etc/ld.so.conf file to include the path to qt2 which appears to be /usr/lib/qt3 (points to a link) and there is alos a link to point to qt2 so I also added the equivalent qt2 line. I assume they use qt2 with ScribuS to maintain compatibilty with many distros of Linux.
Not sure - until someone wise replies, what happens if you try to run configure with QTDIR set to qt3?
IT goes through the configure process (./configure) but bombs out at searching for X with the message: "Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths"
My guess until you say otherwise is that maybe when they put together what you're trying to compile, qt3 wasn't out ... but let us know different ...
Possibly though it is an ongoing project so I reckon it could be for backwards compatibilty or something ... but you're probably right :-) James James C. Rocks Equant Archway House Canary Wharf London E14 9SZ Phone: 0207-5226856 Fax: 0207-5126087 Mobile Phone: 07771-767405 http://www.equant.com
