Or better yet, if you are running apache on a server without a GUI: To add apache to the startup process # chkconfig -a apache To remove apache from the startup process # chkconfig -d apache To see how apache will be started ( or _if_ ) # chkconfig -l apache --tosi On Sat, 2002-07-13 at 01:04, Robert C. Hello List,
Just noticed that although Apache is installed on this 8.0 sys it is not running. Now I know how to go and find out how to change that in a generic way, but I could find NO way to tell the sys to start Apache each boot in Control Panel and YAST2. There must be a way to set the system to automagically start Apache each boot. Any ideas?
Yast2 -> System -> Runlevel Editor -> Runlevel Properties -> Apache
Put check mark by levels 3 and 5. This will set default to start Apache in runlevels where networking is enabled.
Click on Start/Stop/Refresh and select Start Now to start Apache immediately. Or login as root and run "rcapache start".
