Try to download the drivers directly from www.nvidia.com
They are ready for the latest versions of suse in rpm format... and they
work great

I believe you have to install the nvidia drivers with YOU, because the
ones
that come with the ftp or boxed distribution are just dummy drivers.
Run 3Ddiag and read the output.

It is fetching the sources from the FTP site: Yast and | Yast2 die with "bad gzip magic numbers". Well, finally I managed to install SuSE-8.0.
However, the X server setup issue is still unsolved. I can use the framebuffer server and log in. But the system hangs as soon as I start sax2 for configuration. I havve an nVidia GeForce3 graphic card. (I installed the nVidia kernel and modules with YOU). Does anyone know how I can solve that problem?
Thanks,
