I had a Motorola ISDN modem working under some version of Linux several years ago. There was no problem with it. I thought it was a bit slow. I'm trying to remember what I did with it. If I still have it, I'll send it to you, but I suspect I can't find it. Why don't you get ADSL and forget ISDN? Much faster, and more reliable. Or better yet, cable, if you have cable TV and your service provides it. I had to give up ISDN when the line went bad and the local telco wouln't troubleshoot it and fix it. After a month down, I called them on the other line and told them to cancel. I got ADSL from a supplier OTHER than the telco, figuring that THEY would have to deal with telco when or if the line went down, but so far, all is cool--2-1/2 years. (The ADSL provider made telco fix the line--the problem was miles away!) I just looked for the Motorola modem, and I don't know where it got to. Maybe I gave it to someone else. --doug At 09:44 07/09/2002 -0700, Art Fore wrote:
I am looking at getting an ISDN line and I need to get an ISDN modem. Has anyone had any experience with the Netgear ISDN modems connecting in SuSE 8.0? I would also like to do a home network with router to the ISDN modem. Is this possible?
