I've used Netgear cards before under Linux, to be honest I can't remember what model they were except that they were 10/100 Fast Ethernet.
They worked absolutely fine. From memory, I believe they use the Tulip netword card drivers.
Not Tulip -- those are the FA310s. The FA312s use the National Semiconductor driver. From the kernel configuration help: National Semiconductor DP8381x series PCI Ethernet support CONFIG_NATSEMI This driver is for the National Semiconductor DP83810 series, which is used in cards from PureData, NetGear, Linksys and others, including the 83815 chip.
