The problem was indeed with permissions. All I had to do was to add an 'Allow From 192.168.129.0/24' line to cupsd.conf, reload cupsd and it started working. I did not have to set the server for the clients. Thanks again for your help! Avi On Mon, 2002-07-08 at 01:33, Graham Smith wrote:

One of the machine on my network is running SuSE 8.0 and cups and has a printer connected to its parallel port. Another machine is trying to print remotely. It also has cups installed. I can see the printer, but when I attempt to print, I get a server-error-service-unavailable error.
Any idea what may cause this problem?
Thanks, Avi
Hi Avi,
On the Server have you configured /etc/cups/cupsd.conf? This is where you set the permissions that allow other computers access to the printers on the server. The file is well commented and is easy to configure.
On all other computers you should edit /etc/cups/client.conf and add the Server Address. -- Avi Schwartz avi@CFFtechnologies.com
