What about Ximian?
Has anyone have any experience with it on SuSE?
My experience with Ximian has been mixed. While their concept is good, their execution seems to be lacking at least on SuSE. The feeling I got was that SuSE is a second class citizen for Ximian. Yes, they support SuSE, but only AFTER they have supported the latest Red Hat and Mandrake releases. For example, SuSE 7.3 came out in October 2001, Red Hat 7.2 came out around December, 2001. Guess which one was supported first on Ximian? Not SuSE. But I understand they have to choose their priorities. My real problem with Ximian is that it takes over all your Gnome libraries. You can't go back later and uninstall Ximian to get your plain Gnome configuration back. You also can't upgrade any Gnome app from SuSE YOU because the library names have changed. Ximian is a one way street as far as Gnome apps go. Despite all that, I have friends who run and love Ximian (on Red Hat). Once again, personal preference is the ultimate judge here.
