Should I simply change the home directory name of a user. (I have changed the login name of that user but his working directory /home/<user> remains the same).
You would also want to make sure that: - the entry in /etc/passwd is correct - the ownership of /home/<user> is correct For the first, you probably ought to make the change in the user management submodule of YaST. (You could edit /etc/passwd directly, but I'm sure that's not recommended.) For the second, run the command chown -R <user>.users /home/<user> as root. (It's probable that the ownership will be correct anyway, but it never hurts to be sure.) -tara
