Hi Tom, I don't think you can access the tape device on the NT box directly. Here's what I do. 1) create an NT account or use an existing one (maybe yours?) 2) create a special backup dir on the NT box for the Linux files to reside. That way you won't mix NT and Linux files (if you have any) 3) mount dir from step 2 with smbmount or equiv 4) rsync Next time NT box makes backup, your files will be included. I'm the only guy at my company that's running Linux (long story so let's not get into it). My W2k server backs up all the machines everynight via a OnStream Tape drive and NTbackup program.
Can I backup my linux box with the tape and NTbackup? If so, how? (detailed please...it's been a long night).
If not, is there anyway to back up my system on a nightly basis?
