I had a color dot matrix printer many years ago. It was a 24 pin dot matrix printer that used a 4 color nylon ribbon, plus a standard black ribbon. It used a funky lever mechanism to lift and lower the color ribbon so that the appropriate color was in front of the pin head. It's major problem was that it attempted to mix colors, and you could end up with just a hole in the paper if you used cheap tractor feed paper. The pin head would go back and forth over the spot a couple of times and hammer a nice soggy hole through the page. It was expensive to use. I don't remember how much each color ribbon was, but I do remember using it as little as possible because of the cost. Oh yah, it wasn't Russian ;-) I had it when I used to live in Canada. C.
