Is there a tool in Linux that I can convert my mp3 files to a format that I can used in my cd player...
Such is the nature of a mailing list: the subject has been discussed several times, but there will always be new people. Well, to mention two solutions just offered recently on this list: 1. mpg123 -w new.wav old.mp3 will convert an mp3 to a wav file 2. Use xmms. Select Options > Preferences > Output plugin > Disk Writer. Select all the mp3 tracks you want, and they'll be converted to .wav. For other solutions, I would suggest to have a look at the suse-linux-e archives in http://marc.theaimsgroup.com, and enter "mp3" as a search word. SH
