Starting sax2 without hardware detection left me with a workng mouse right up intil I saved the current configuration and exited. At that point the mouse died again and a restart of X got it back.
More a minor annoyance than a problem, one of those "if we get time bugs". I just wanted to confirm that I wasn't alone before submitting a report.
Ah, well, for me it became the straw that broke the camel's back. I set up a laptop for my brother with 7.3 in December, and then had to make some small changes when I delivered. The small changes turned into a minor nightmare of frustration, which was only exacerbated when I did an X tweak and SaX2 lost its tenuous hold on the mouse. Just the sort of thing you want to have happen when you are trying to impress the "customer". My brother, who was already leary of Linux, decided to scrap it entirely and load Win 98 instead. He's been happy and content ever since. Hell will freeze over before that one tries Linux again. Meanwhile, I've refurbished another computer for another brother, and have installed only SuSE 8 on it. I'll be delivering this coming Sunday. Wish me (and Tux) luck. :-) This second brother has never touched a computer in his life. /kevin
