Unfortunately, my experience is where as the Linux motto is "freedom to choose", the motto of ftp.suse.com should be "freedom to confuse" everything is just thrown together. An example would be to ask the question: how do I do a default install of KDE 3? By default, I mean in my case, installing the same standard apps, interface, etc. that were installed when I installed SuSE 7.3 Pro for the first time on my machine. Everything is just thrown together. What about a separate directory for KDE 3, a separate directory for an advanced install and some read me files that cover the dependency issues involved in upgrading. How about including the dependencies in the same directory or at least aliases of the file/package dependencies? Your advise is sound. It isn't your fault that ftp.suse.com isn't more user friendly, but unfortunately, that IS still the case. Cheers, Brian
