You don't need to worry about that unless you have a hardware clock setup, e.g. radio clock getting its signal from one of the atomic clocks around the world.
Thanks Add its name to your ntp config file and away you go. Keith said set it up in Yast2 after editing the config file. I editied the config file. Is this in Runlevel Editor where I would find ntp? Cause I don't. Thanks again. Nick

PC clocks are notoriously bad. Losing 6 minutes in one day is not unusual in my experience (losing an hour is). I use ntp to keep my clock updated. Find some time servers near you, add them to /etc/ntp.conf and turn the service on with YaST2.
From /etc/ntp.conf :
## Most of these clocks require support in the form of a ## serial port or special bus peripheral. The particular ## device is normally specified by adding a soft link ## /dev/device-u to the particular hardware device involved, ## where u correspond to the unit number above.
Hmmm. Is this something I need to concern myself with or will Yast handle the ugly stuff for me?
TIA, NIck
