-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 If it were me, I'd open up the case and switch the DVD drive to be master or wherever it needs to be for your BIOS to make it bootable. Remember you'll likely need to change jumpers if you do this. Check the manufacturer's website or your manuals (and sometimes even the backs of the drives) to figure out where the jumpers should go. This hardware solution would have the long-term benefit of allowing you to boot from any CD or DVD you needed to in the future as well, since the DVD drive will also boot with bootable CDs. Also, I'm assuming you've checked your BIOS, because with some BIOS software you can boot from any connected drive (even secondary slave) if you just set it in the BIOS. Sorry if this wasn't the sort of answer you'd hoped for, but for me this hardware solution would take 10 minutes and therefore is more efficient than fighting with software you seem to be finding uncooperative. Good luck! Jose Thadeu Cavalcante wrote: | Hi, | | How can I install SuSE 8 from DVD considering that it is the secondary IDE | slave and I cannot boot from it.
