Oops. :) You are correct. Also gtk-devel needed installing. I have since been able to install xmms-cdread successfully, and I enabled the plug-in. However, I still don't get sound out of the "rear" speakers when playing a CD.... Perhaps there's another setting I have missed. I will play around w/ it some more. Thanks again!
