-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 KInternet worked out of the box for me in 7.2 & .3 . It wasn't in the toolbar in 8, but I ran it from Menu, configured, and it works fine for me on dialup. Set Timeout from 600 to 0, and now it never drops the connection. I had it working on my laptop with 7.3 and analog modem. Worked right out of the box. Never did get it working with desktop on 7.3 though.

I am having the same type of problem, Thank goodness, I am not alone with this issue., but I think Kinternet will only work under an ISDN setup modem from what I read under the help.

Still have not gotten Kinternet to working on two machines. I can go to console and execute wvdial and it dials and connects with no problem. This is in addition to being able to dial with KPPP. There is one message in the Kinternet log below that does not show up in KPPP or wvdial.
pppd: Plugin passwordfd.so loaded.
Does anyone know what this is and if it could be causing the problem?
Thanks in advance.

I have setup the modem, etc. but when I try to dial with Kinternet, it comes up dials, connects, then sends dummy password where ISP comes back and says
login/password pair mismatch.
If I dial with KPPP, it connects with no problem. How do I get Kinternet to do the correct login and password? It is selecting the correct modem etc. Also had this problem with 7.3 on the desktop, but on the laptop, it worked with 7.3. Now, the laptop comes up with same problem.
Also tried putting logon and password in the /etc/wvdial.conf. When I do this, Kinternet does not even connect.
Here is the log from Kinternet.
