I need to recompile my kernel and I want to start with the existing options. Where can I find the current kernel config (SuSE 8.0 Personal BTW)?
This has got to be a common question, but I've been unable to find the answer. Sorry to have to ask.
make mrproper make cloneconfig Will get you the configuration of the running kernel, so you can make xconfig and make your changes This is provided you're using a SuSE kernel source. zcat /proc/config.gz > .config also works, but note that there are options in the suse kernels that are not present in a "vanilla" kernel, if that's what you're going to compile. regards Anders
