Hi Greg,
The best books are ones which won't go out of date at the next release.
Your SuSE release came with some books on the CDs, and more online reading
can be found at the Linux Documentation Project website: http://tldp.org .
"Linux System Administration" by Carling, Degler and Dennis, published by
New Riders press is good. O'Reilly's "Linux in a Nutshell" is a good
reference. After that, though, I'd recommend more general Unix books. The
ultimate is the purple book, "Unix System Administration Handbook," by
Nemeth et. al. It's pricey, but it's the book I refer back to most often.
Linux was born on the Internet, and the Internet has mothered it every
since. There are a ton of great Linux web sites out there. Check out the
Unix Guru Universe, http://www.ugu.com .
And hang out here - there are some folks on this list who have forgotten
more than I will ever know.
Good luck!
