While I don't want to start a religious battle since I am an EMACS person: IMHO, every Unix or Linux person who acts as a system admin should have a basic working knowledge of the VI editor as it is the standard Unix editor (and has been since included in Unix System 3). It was written by Bill Joy (and his team at Berkeley). Bill is still at Sun. On 20 Apr 2002 at 15:25, Jon Doe wrote:
Ok, I know I'll hear about this, but I have no clue how to use vi. I am trying to add me "jon" to the sudoers file so I can run sudo without the root password. I think I know how to put it in the file:
jon ALL=/sbin/mount
But how do I save the file??
I am trying to use samba and mount my USB card reader without having to use root password. Thanks for any help.
