Has anyone else had problems with SuSE's precompiled XFree86-4.2.0-64 rpm files when viewing videos? I just upgraded to XFree86-4.2.0 so that I would get better looking fonts for OpenOffice. I had installed XFree86-4.2.0 back when it was first release, but had problems with it crashing, screwing up my virtual consoles, and freezing when I played videos. So I went back to 4.1.0, which works very well overall. I've had this problem with both of the video players that I tried. I believe that both of them are using the SDL library. And the SDL library is using either the X11 protocol, or the Xvideo extension. Are there any known issues with this? Does anybody know if I can just copy the new libfreetype.a from XFree86-4.2.0 on top of a XFree86-4.1.0 install? What does the following line mean? 9461 is the PID of my X server. [drm:r128_cce_indirect] *ERROR* process 9461 using buffer owned by 0 Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Lowell Alleman
