I tried to install SuSE 7.1 Pro on a new Dell Optiplex GX240, with the boot floppy option (dual boot with Win2000). This has an 18 GB IDE hard drive. It was partitioned thus (with a little help from Partition Magic): C NTFS primary /boot ext2 primary D NTFS logical /kluge ext2 logical (unused) swap swap logical / ext2 logical The install CD1 booted fine, but during reboot, the resulting boot floppy got stuck while trying to talk to the hard drive. It kept repeating "lost interrupt". The boot floppy's LILO menu booted Windows fine. The factory installation boot floppy also booted fine. I then installed Red Hat 7.2, and its boot floppy (with the kernel actually on the floppy) boots fine. What could be causing the "lost interrupt"? How do I fix it? Peter Taylor
