Well, you can just go into the 'cdrtools' directory and run 'make && make INS_BASE=/usr MANDIR=share/man install' and hope that it compiles correctly.
Thanks for your help, Karol. Now I've got the latest cdrtools installed, but unfortunately you were right in saying that it probably wouldn't solve the problem.
