Asault on Exchange - the last refuge of the scoundral!

I've been toying around with trying to get my Linux system integrated with the MS Exchange server at work. I've been told fetchmail can do this, but I haven't been able to look into it. This seems to be the biggest obstacle to my integrating into our current setup. Have others successfully integrated their systems with MS Exchange without setting up a POP or IMAP service on Exchange?
