rm -f * the -f means don't prompt for each one.

You sound like a guy who might like Midnight Commander.
Type "mc" in an xterm or console window.
Just touch insert on each file you want to delete to highlight,
and hit F8.
It's addicting, and you eventually loose the ability to do
the commandline properly. :-)
