The install documentation says to include starting qmail in the rc scripts, AND adding a line to inetd.conf. This seems strange to me. I have been under the impression that you either use one or the other, not both. If I set qmail in inetd, then it will fire off qmail when it sees a connection on that port. But if it is already running as a daemon will this interfere with the operations? Please enlighten me. ~Dale ________________________________ Dale Schuster MIS Manager Lake Tahoe Horizon Casino Resort dschuster@horizoncasino.com You don't need at all inetd. qmail "includes" another much better superserver called tcpserver. It manages all connections very more secure and much more efficient, along with "daemontools" (or supervise). Dan Bernstein disclaim using inetd with qmail. And he's completely right.
