Download webmin or something if you are not familiar with the docs. Sendmail
documentation is very thorough and runs very efficiently when configured
properly.
Make sure that you add your allowable domains in your sendmail.local file.
Also, if you keep getting mail relaying denied it could be because dns
lookups are not providing a valid relay domain response on the dns lookup.

Subject: Re: [SLE] Replacement for Sendmail
Sounds more like user error. You want to relay * Please post your IP after
you do that so we can all use your ADSL to bounce spam, we just bought a
mailing list of 10,000 names we need to spam and your assistance would be
greatly appreciated.
You can use Postfix, better for novice users that cannot read/understand the
manual.

Hi
What would be a good replacement for Sendmail?
I have linux-router with fetchmail / sendmail running, and both win and Linux "clients" on LAN-side. There is ADSL-line out from it.
Fetchmail-side is working nicely.
Now I have found Sendmail to be really out-of-date what comes to configuration. I can't get it to work, it just gives "realying denied" no matter what I try.
I have been able to set it so, that every domain-name I manually code into the configuration is accepted, but surely there must be some "*" somewhere, but it just won't work, and docs are of no use. So it is out-of-date piece of SW.
So, I need to replace it with a modern package.
Jaska.
