You can have a lot of fun with this too, eg: # ps --no-headers -eo vsz,pid,%cpu,command | sort -r | less to show you which processes are consuming the most virtual memory in reverse sort order. Which ever field you want to sort on must be the first column, unless you want to get fancy with the sort command. One things that's not clear to me (because the man page is rather sparse) is the unit value representing memory. Is it 512 byte blocks, or 1K, or 4K (a page)? John
