Did I miss something or is this server not running qmail/ezmlm for the
lists? The original message I got said it was the ezmlm program that was
running the list. Maybe I'm mistaken about that or someone has made ezmlm
work on another email server but I don't think that is the case.

Obviously, you understand that QMail is the far better choice for a mail server - why not take the time to install it the way it was meant to be install - from scratch!
Unless you want to implement a server that really have to perform, like the server running this list...
