Don't use KDE. Use GNOME. SuSE71 Pro I usually log in to the user in the run level 3 and then run gdm so that I can start in the GNOME environment. OK this isn't the best way (or at least it doesn't seem that way), because then I have to reboot to go to run level 3, which I mainly use. However, sometimes I need to go to x and would like it to start GNOME. If I type startx KDE starts... So what do I need to do to start GNOME not KDE?
