I'm wondering if all the people who can't get it to work are running kde 2.2.1, like me? I tried xpenguins, putting it as a background program in 'configure background'. Nothing happened. I verified that it had been entered in kdestoprc, but it wouldn't work. When I logged out, in the split second before kdm appears, I saw the whole bottom part of the screen full of penguins. I think the problem is that kde takes over the root window, and programs that want to use it have to be 'kde aware' //Anders On Friday 19 October 2001 22.07, phil wrote:

I think it's 'amusing'. It's really not that 'amazing', though 'annoying' would perhaps be valid too :)
