well, Martin, (Hello !), with the numbers, it seems it works. I didn't enter Your complete address (impossible to write the sign after ...140/, this is my next problem, I point out, having Alt+number writing caracters).
Under X, you should use "alt gr + some key". For example, to write { I use "alt gr + 7", not the one in the keypad though. There are many nice characters out there. :-)
But I got the answer that the enry was not allowed and indicating a port number at Yr server. This seems to mean that at least it works.
Wd it be then that the aliasing of the addresses doesn't work ? (hence also that when starting kde I get the formerly mentionned message ?

Have you checked /etc/resolv.conf ? Maybe you have some permission problem (I dont know that for sure). Praise
