What is the appropriate way to connect smb shares at bootup now? If I put it in fstab, the mount fails because the network is not up yet. If I put it in boot.local, the mount fails because the network is not up yet. The following works, but seems stupid: Create /bin/mountsmb script with the following: sleep 30 /bin/mount -t smbfs //puter/share /mntpoint And call the script from /etc/boot.local like so: "/bin/mountsmb &". What I ended up doing was: add the mount command to the start portion of the /etc/rc.d/smbfs script. This works, but I'm not sure if this is the appropriate way to do it. Someone really needs to update the SAMBA-HOWTO to include a discussion on this. Thanks, Chris Geske LIMS Manager Northern Lake Service, Inc. email: lims@newnorth.net phone: 715-478-2777
