Hi, Boot on the SuSE cd or floppy. Go to yast2 and select Configure boot mode and Write Lilo to the boot disk 'MBR'.(This is only if you do not have Windows at the same disk). Then go to yast1 and System administration-Boot configuration-Lilo configuration. You should see the standard boot configurations. Change these if you need. Save and exit. Run 'lilo' and 'SuSEconfig'. Reboot and see if it helps. Jostein

===== This morning, LILO froze at the stage "LIL-". The SuSE manual says : "The descriptor table (in the map file) is corrupt. This can either be caused by a geometry mismatch or by moving /boot/boot.b without rein-stalling LILO."
No change to the configuration was made recently. I started with a floppy (just the kernel, without lilo) and everything was ok. I reinstalled lilo with the same lilo.conf with the same result. I made a "e2fsck -c -f" and got no change. I created a boot disk with LILO. It works fine.
