Damn, your not kidding it's fast! It feels like it was written in assembly! Failsafe isn't much faster than golem. Inotice it's pretty easy to configure as well, well documented rc files. Makes life very nice. Thanks a lot for the help. On Tuesday 18 September 2001 11:40 am, you wrote:
Built it from sources, no problems. Man, it's fast!! This is how I configured it: 1. Added golem to the list of windowmangers in /opt/kde2/share/config/kdm/kdmrc 2. Edited ~/.golem/golemrc(basically uncommented some stuff) 3.Made a symlink from /usr/local/share/golem/themes to .golem/themes 4.Edited .golem/plugins/simple_menus/rc in order to personalize the root-menu.

Has anyone installed Golem X11 Window Manager in suse 7.2 yet?
My past experience with attempting to add WM's or messing with suse's window managers has led to TOTAL DISASTER and a completely ruined system.
Does Suse have any guidelines?
For the rest reading... Which files should be backed up, and which should be edited. I feel safer doing it manually, but to this very day, I still haven't figured out which files(usually two files) , to create symbolic link/batch file (etc/X11/Golem) and modify the other (/etc/X11/windowFreakingmanagers) to edit. Suse is the only distro I have not figured this out in. I have all the WM's from the 7.2 pro distro installed, so where are they. ;o)
