Martin,, Thanks very much for the quick response. I will search for the details as you suggested. Simply deleting the index files and rebuilding them didn't help. I didn't have this problem when I installed KDE 2.2 from the KDE site. I note that when I open the KDE Control Center it says KDE 2.2.1pre1, if that makes a difference. After upgrading to the latest KDE 2.2 from the SuSE ftp site, about half of my

I am running SuSE 7.1, kernel 2.4.0. I got the KDE updates from
ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_7.1
Clicking on KMail help says Kmail 1.1.99 running on KDE 2.2
When I receive the message, under the heading Subject, it says No Subject. when I view the body of the email, the Subject is there, but it is not in the header. Rather it is in the body of the message. This does not happen with all messages, but with about half.
This question gets osted every couple of weeks. You need to rebuild the index files (delete the .folder_name.index files in Mail folder). Please search Geocrawler or the archive for details.
